Footsteps 2022 - Back in Indy with Our Lives Transformed

 

Footsteps 2022 arrived back safely to Indianapolis last night, but we’re still dreaming of Rome!

Our final day in Rome was another full day! We visited Mamertine Prison, the Roman Forum, and St. Paul’s Outside the Walls. 

We finished our time together with a beautiful meal followed by communion. 

While the trip has ended, the impact of this journey will last forever. Our lives have been transformed by this experience.

Footsteps 2022 - Rome! Rome! And more Rome!

 

Yesterday we started our morning on the beach at Samos, swimming in the Aegean Sea and we ended our day in Rome, enjoying a delicious meal at Ristorante Alessio. 

Today was a VERY full day in Rome. Vatican Museum. Sistine Chapel. St. Peter’s Basilica. Piazza Navona. Pantheon. Trevi Fountain. Spanish Steps. And, of course, we visited Giolitti’s for some gelato!

Now we’re off to dinner with our small groups!

Footsteps 2022 - Patmos and Ephesus

Two full days. Two transformative days. 

Tomorrow we’re off to Rome!

Footsteps 2022 - Acropolis Museum and Samos

It was another incredible day on our Footsteps journey! 

We started with breakfast (and a little sleeping in!) and then made our way to the Acropolis Museum. 
After the museum was lunch and then we made our way to the airport to fly to Samos. After a brief delay we were on our way! 

We arrived in Samos this evening and enjoyed a lovely dinner and then finished with a quick trip to the beach!

Tomorrow we head to Patmos for the day!

Footsteps 2022 - Corinth and Nemea

 

Today was incredible! We visited both Corinth and Nemea. 

Before reaching ancient Corinth, we took a brief pit stop at a local shop for refreshments and snacks and for an opportunity to look at the Corinth canal.

We started our day exploring ancient Corinth, spending time at both the museum and the archaeological site. While we were there, Rev. Lex Allum led us in communion. After exploring ancient Corinth, we then stopped for a delicious lunch overlooking the ancient city. 

Our next stop was to the ancient city of Nemea where we once again got to visit both the museum and the archaeological site. We also did a bit of Olympic training while we were there! 

Once we got back to our hotel, we spent about an hour walking around the Plaka and doing some shopping. Then it was off to an amazing dinner with a phenomenal view of the acropolis lit up at night. 

Tomorrow we'll be visiting the acropolis museum and then it is off to Samos! 

Footsteps 2022 - Exploring Athens!

 

Today was our first full day in Athens and it did not disappoint! Led by our INCREDIBLE guide, Eleni, we toured all over Athens. 

Some stops along the way included the Theater of Dionysus, the Sanctuary of Asklepios, the Erechtheion, the Parthenon, the Stoa of Attalos, Mars Hill, Temple of Hephaistos, Olympic Stadium, and so much more! 

We finished the evening in our small groups, taking some time to explore Athens (and maybe do a little shopping!) and enjoy dinner at various restaurants. What an amazing day!

Tomorrow we head to Corinth!

Footsteps 2022 - Arrival in Athens

 

We are officially in Athens! Our flight landed around 11AM. Once we got through customs, we grabbed our bags (no lost luggage - woo hoo!) and then met Eleni, our guide while we are in Greece. After a quick lunch we then got on the bus to travel to the hotel. On our way, Eleni gave us a wonderful tour of Athens.

Once we got settled into our hotel rooms, we then took the opportunity to do some exploring on our own. Now it is time to relax a bit before we do dinner together. 

We are so looking forward to a transformative journey together!
